Lawn care in Greenwood Village, acre lots and Tech Center grounds
Lawn work is where the two halves of Greenwood Village stop being an abstraction. Residential here means turf that can run to an acre, with mature trees dropping something into it nearly every visit. Tech Center work means entry beds and turf panels kept presentable for a building where nobody notices the landscaping until it looks bad. Same mower, same truck. Different clock, different standard, and a different person deciding whether it passed.
What Lawn work looks like in Greenwood Village
- Water in the Village does not come from one city utility. Separate districts serve different parts of town, so the days you are allowed to run zones can differ from the house across the street. Tell me who bills you for water and I will set the irrigation schedule to that district's rules instead of guessing at them.
- On the acre lots the mowing is the easy part. Hauling is what eats the day, and one truck holds one truck. An acre of leaves in late October is two or three trips or a bin in the driveway, and that is a September decision rather than a surprise on the invoice. I would rather walk a lot that size than quote it off photos, and the walk is free.
- A blowout on an acre is not a twenty minute stop. These systems can easily run fifteen or twenty zones plus drip for the beds, and I work them one at a time with a portable compressor rather than a truck rig. That takes longer, and longer costs you more at an hourly rate. Ask me for the honest math before you book it.
- Office grounds in the Tech Center get judged on about four square feet of the property. The entry island, the strip between the parking stalls and the door, and the rock bed around the monument sign. Those get done first and get done every visit, because that is the part a tenant emails the property manager about.
- Snow on the residential side runs into long private drives. Plenty of Village houses sit well back from the road with a circle or a two hundred foot run to the garage, and that is a plow job. Walks, steps, entries, and short drives I can handle with a blower and a shovel. Anything longer I will tell you before the first storm, not after it.

Hire local is close to meaningless in this city for this trade. No more than about three lawn and landscape outfits give an address inside Greenwood Village, while there are on the order of eighty within five miles of the middle of town. Almost everyone who mows here drives in from somewhere else, because the land is too expensive to park a trailer on. So the question is not who is nearest. It is who picks up the phone in July. I am nine miles out, one truck, four months in, and no reviews yet. What I can promise is that the person who quotes your yard is the person standing in it.

Scheduling and getting there
Residential mowing I batch with Cherry Hills Village next door, so the nine mile drive gets split across several stops instead of landing on one invoice. Commercial visits go in after hours, which in summer runs straight into Fiddler's Green. On a show night the office lots fill with concert parking and the streets around Greenwood Plaza stack up from late afternoon, so I check the amphitheatre calendar before I set an evening and move the visit rather than sit in it. Blowout season is October and the whole city wants the same two weeks. Get on that list in September.
When I am the wrong call
There are two jobs here I am the wrong call for. A full grounds contract on a Tech Center campus wants a crew on site, several mowers, and a snow fleet under contract before September. That is not one truck. The other is an acre of open turf on a weekly cut, where three guys with a sixty inch deck are gone before I would be half done, and their price will beat my hourly. If that is your property I will say so on the phone instead of quoting it.
