Disclaimer
Two things worth being precise about: what the advice on this site is worth, and what my insurance actually covers. Most trade websites are vague about the second one. This page is not.
The guidance here is general information, not advice about your property
Everything on this site is published for informational purposes only. The prices, the timings, the notes about what a job usually involves: all of it is written from experience and none of it is a professional assessment of your particular property, which I have not seen.
Nothing here is legal advice, financial advice, tax advice or an engineering opinion, and reading it does not make you my customer. A quote for your specific job is the only thing that does.
If a page here and a licensed professional disagree about your property, believe the professional who is standing in it.
Insurance, named precisely
I am not going to write "licensed and insured" and leave you to fill in the blanks, because that phrase does more work in most people's heads than it should. Here is exactly what is held, transcribed from the certificate:
- Coverage: professional liability
- Carrier: Hiscox Insurance Company Inc
- Limits: $1,000,000 per claim, $1,000,000 aggregate
- In force until: May 2027
What that covers is a claim that the service itself was performed negligently.
What it does not cover, and you should know this before you book: the certificate carries professional liability only. There is no commercial general liability policy, no commercial automobile policy, no workers compensation policy and no umbrella policy behind it. General liability is the one that answers for physical damage to your property or an injury to someone on site, and I do not hold it today. If that matters for your job, and for some commercial work it will, say so before we schedule and we will talk about it honestly.
A commercial client who needs the certificate of insurance itself can ask for it and I will send it. The policy number is not printed on this website on purpose: a policy number attached to a business name is enough for somebody to start a fraudulent claim.
Licensing and scope of work
I do audio visual installation, cleaning, and lawn and landscape maintenance. Within AV that means mounting, running low voltage cable, and setting up and networking equipment.
I am not an electrician and I do not offer licensed electrical work. If a job needs a new circuit, work inside a panel, or anything else that belongs to a licensed electrician, that is where I stop and tell you to call one. The same goes for plumbing, gas, roofing and structural work. Saying no to the part of a job I should not be doing is cheaper for you than the alternative.
Where a permit or a licensed trade is required, it is required whether or not it is convenient, and I will not work around it.
Prices and availability
Published prices are starting points, not quotes. The pricing page explains what moves a price, and it moves for real reasons: the size of the property, how long it has been since the last visit, and how hard the access is.
Drive times and distances on the service area pages are typical, not guaranteed. Traffic on I-25 is not something I control.
Pictures on this site
Six of the service area pictures are real photographs of those towns, taken by other people and used under a Creative Commons licence, credited on that page. The rest are generated illustrations of the kind of property a city is mostly made of.
None of them is a job I have done, none is a property I have worked on, and none should be read as a portfolio. When there is real work to show, it will go up with the customer's permission and it will be labelled as real.
Links to other sites
Where this site links somewhere else, that is because the destination is useful, not because anybody paid for it. There are no affiliate links on this site, no sponsored placements, and no commissions. I do not control what other sites do and I am not responsible for their content.
