TV mounting and AV work in Centennial homes and offices
In Centennial the hard part of an AV job is almost never the television. It is the wall behind it, and that changes by decade. A brick fireplace in Cherry Knolls, a vaulted family room off Willow Creek, and a 2003 build with a structured wiring panel in the basement are three different jobs with the same shopping list. Tell me roughly when the house went up and send a photo of the wall, and I can usually price it before I ever drive out.
What AV work looks like in Centennial
- The 1960s and 70s ranches around Cherry Knolls usually have one coax drop and a masonry fireplace in the family room. Mounting above that firebox means masonry anchors and an honest look at how hot the mantel gets, and the cable comes around the brick rather than through it. That is a two hour job, not a forty minute one.
- Willow Creek and the two story houses of that era often put the TV wall in a vaulted room. There is no attic above a vault to drop a wire through, so the run either goes down into the crawl space and back up, or it lives in a surface raceway that gets painted. I will show you both options before I cut anything.
- East of Southglenn, the late 90s and 2000s builds hide a structured wiring panel in a basement closet, and half the time nobody has opened it since the builder walkthrough. Cat5e in there carries gigabit fine, so the work is usually a labeled patch, a dead splitter pulled out, and the router moved somewhere it can actually reach the far bedroom.
- Several Centennial HOAs have front of property standards, and that reaches AV more than people expect. A doorbell camera, an outdoor speaker, a dish, or a patio mount that faces the street can all land inside the covenant. Read yours before I start, because I would rather not put holes in stucco twice.
- At the Streets at SouthGlenn and the offices along Arapahoe and Dry Creek, walls are shared and the airwaves are crowded. Slow wifi next to thirty neighboring networks is a channel and placement problem, not a reason to buy a bigger router. A conference room display needs a mount that catches structure above the tile grid, and the landlord usually has rules about walls.
Who else does this here
AV is the thinnest of the three trades I do, here and everywhere else on my map. Something like seven AV businesses give a Centennial address and close to twenty sit within five miles of the center, the nearest of them under a mile out. Those are upper bounds, since the data does not know whether every listing is still trading. You have real options, and most have been at it a lot longer than four months. What I offer is a different shape: one person, an hourly rate, and no trip charge to get a number out of me.

Where these came from, so you can check them. They are counted from Overture Maps Places, an open business dataset, release 2026-08-19.0, as it stood on 2026-08-30. Overture says outright whether a business is still trading on about two thirds of its records, which is why there are two columns: the left one is what I can stand behind and the right one is the ceiling. Of the 958 businesses matched across all three trades, 5 in this trade are marked permanently closed. I would rather show you the seam in the data than round it off and sound certain.
Scheduling and getting there
Ten miles down Colorado or University, about nineteen minutes, so Centennial rides on my southern run and I can usually offer a couple of days in the same week. AV is indoor work, which means it does not compete with daylight or with mowing season. Winter is when I have the most room for it. Send photos of the wall, the gear, and whatever panel or router is sitting in the basement, and I will quote from that.
When I am the wrong call
Two things I stay out of. Adding an outlet behind a television is line voltage and belongs to an electrician, so if there is no receptacle back there the cord goes in an in wall rated kit or it stays visible. The proprietary whole house control systems that a few houses here were built around are also past me. If yours already runs one, the company that programmed it is your call.
